KAPLANET in collaboration with Kikorongo Women Community organized a one day edutainment event on anti- poaching efforts in queen Elizabeth national park. The activity was intended to raise awareness about poaching but also fosters community involvement and conservation education. Specific activities that were part of the edutainment included; Cultural traditional dance presentations, story telling and preparation of local traditional foods.
Working together has strengthened our relationship within the community and also helped to build trust between the park management and the local people, leading to better collaboration for future conservation efforts.
The participant pledged to take it upon themselves to spread the message in their community and left with a renewed sense of responsibility to protect parks and wildlife.
