Women leadership Development (WLEDE) and KAPLANET embarked on a journey of mutual learning and empowerment.
KAPLANET, with its dedicated team of staff and volunteers, has been tirelessly working towards meaningful youth and women participation in culture and art, sexual reproductive health and rights. Meanwhile, WLEDE, a beacon of gender equality and social transformation, has been championing initiatives to uplift communities across Uganda.
Through organizational peer learning sessions, exchange of ideas commenced with innovative resource mobilization strategies to impactful advocacy approaches, the agenda was brimming with possibilities.
Throughout the two-day journey, the team delved into the fabric of Kasese’s community life. Shared stories, exchanged skills, and immersed themselves in the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
The team visited several tourism sites particularly the cultural heritage sites viewings, every moment was an opportunity for growth and understanding.
But beyond the activities lay a deeper purpose – a commitment to driving positive change. As discussions unfolded, it became evident that collaboration was the cornerstone of progress. Together, they identified actionable recommendations – from embracing and supporting WLEDE activities to fostering mindset change for socioeconomic transformation and gender equality.
The journey concluded not just with a sense of accomplishment, but with a renewed spirit of partnership. As they bid farewell to the friendly faces of Kasese, they carried with them the seeds of collaboration and empowerment. For in the union of WLEDE and KAPLANET lay the promise of a brighter future for the communities of the Rwenzori region.
